A Filipino-Australian was bludgeoned to death allegedly by her Pakistani boyfriend in a construction site in Hong Kong on Tuesday morning, according to a report on South China Morning Post.
Andrea Bayr — daughter of an Austrian father and a Filipino mother, according to the report — was declared dead shortly after she was brought to Tuen Mun Hospital. She suffered multiple head injuries after being hit several times with an electric drill.
Her 27-year-old Pakistani boyfriend, who was not identified in the report, was also brought to Tuen Mun Hospital after suffering minor leg injuries, the report said. He was being held for questioning at the hospital’s custodial ward.
The report said police arrested the suspect—a night-shift security guard at the construction site on Hung Cheung Road—while he was attacking the 25-year-old victim.
It added the police proceeded to the scene after being informed of a couple having a violent argument there.
A small quantity of suspected crystal meth was recovered from the scene, although it was not yet clear if the two were under the influence of illegal drugs during their altercation.
The report said investigators are determining if the two had relationship problems.
Charges have yet to be filed against the suspect as of Tuesday night. —Source: Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
