The Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, represented by Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Col. Jose Ricky A. Laniog and Defense and Armed Forces Administrative Assistant MSgt. Romelito A. Galeos, participated in the National Youth Day Cycling Recreation 2018 graced by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, held in Bandar Seri Begawan on 02 September 2018.
His Majesty The Sultan, along with members of the Royal Family, led the tour and were joined by over a thousand cyclists comprising of government officials, members of the Diplomatic Corps and the general public. The route covered 11.49 kilometers along the main streets of Brunei’s capital.
The National Youth Day Cycling Recreation 2018 was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Communications, and the Brunei Darussalam Cycling Federation.
This year’s National Youth Day celebration was aimed at promoting sporting activity and a healthy lifestyle among the youth.
