Filipino talents showcased during the event were Mr. Gyver Jude Concon, grandwinner of non-Bruneian 2010 Pilihan RTB Singing contest; vocalist, Ms. Liza Lopez; violinist Mr. Franz Lanzaderas; pianist Michelle Menciano; and singer Sheila Calzado.
Cultural dances were also rendered by Studio Scene Services, headed by Mr. Daniel Cabrera; and JD Leaps & Bounds Dance Studio, represented by Ms. Rowena Tan and Mr. Ricky Demesa. The Blastoff Band, headed by Mr. Garth Borrero, Anilisa Azares and Anna Rhodora Quiambao brought zest to the crowd with their song numbers.
In his speech, His Excellency, Ambassador Alexander B. Yano acknowledged and recognized the close relationships and partnership between the Philippine Embassy and the Filipino community in Brunei Darussalam. He thanked the FILCOM leaders for their unwavering support for the Philippine Independence Day celebrations and concern and assistance for their fellow overseas Filipino workers.
He expressed his appreciation to the Filipino community for its understanding for the Embassy’s decision to cancel the Independence Day Dinner Ball on 13 June 2010 and the Filipino Community Get-Together on 20 June 2010. In consideration of the Brunei Government’s prohibition on all forms of live entertainment during the Islamic month of Rejab starting 6 pm of 13 June 2010, the Philippine Embassy has had to cancel all cultural performances slated for its Independence Day activities.

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Philippine Embassy through the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) spearheaded the FILCOM Leaders Gathering to celebrate the 112th Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence last 13 June 2010 at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Philippine Embassy, Bandar Seri Begawan.
The event was made possible through the assistance of Ms. Edel Bartholomew ( Filipino Association of Brunei (FAB) - President), Ms. Amalia Sales-Limboc (PICPA-Brunei Chapter President), and Ms. Josephine M. Jasa as emcee of the event.
